EDIT: So first off, I present the mascot names. I went through the journal where names were suggested and these were chosen:

A little disappointing to see 57 people said they'd get one done but only 7 did but 27 is a pretty good number to end with The top 10 will be chosen by our staff, and you will vote for your favourites to win! Hello everyone! It's time for a contest with some awesome prizes!!!! Updated a section of the rules about the colour scheme and added more prizes

So last competition we had, was for members to design our two mascots, a boy and a girl and the winners of that were: and :thumb216179222: .

These are now our official mascots, hurray!!   

It has come to our attention that our journal skin and icon don't really match our new lovely Mascots (who are nameless still!) so we thought we'd make a contest surrounding just that!

Contest Rules

It seems I confused a lot of people. Basically the contest is do a full colour digital or traditional piece of our mascots. If you read the first four rules, it sums up the contest. Try to choose a colour palette, colour scheme that represents our mascots and incorperate that into the image. In the comments, tell us what colours you used and why. credit the mascot creators, credit us; don't plagarize. etc. I'll try to reply to everyone if it's still confusing. Ask now

1. The theme for the contest is "Icon and Palette Maskot". We are looking for a nice colour scheme of the winning pieces to be intergraded into a new journal skin for the group, as well as a stunning image (or two or three!) of our mascots to be used for our group icon

2. Must be a full digital or traditional piece of either our male mascot, or female mascot or both! (no linearts, wips, sketches, allowed!)

3. You don't have to create the icon itself, just an image that can be used for the group's icon as well as a notable palette/colour scheme.

4. YOU MUST say in your artist comments what colours you chose for your palette to represent our mascots. (palette meaning the colours you chose and why ) Update - i wouldn't change the mascots hair colour or eye colour, as that is something special to them. But if you feel other colours should be changed, go for it

5. Please try to keep as true to the designs of our mascots as possible, as we'd like members to be able to recognize that it is in fact, our mascots!

6. You must give credit to the mascot you draw with a link to stooberry.deviantart.com/ or yuushika.deviantart.com/ depending on which one or both you use in your artist comments, as well as a link to 's group page

7. No photos, photo manipulations, crafts, traced, copied, work allowed. Must be completely done by you! (with using only the mascot images as a reference). Any work submitted not done fully by you, will be disqualified.

8. You have until December 1st, 2011 11:59 pm EST to finish your piece. That is over a month and a half away! So make it your best

9. Grand Prize winner will be subject to vote by membership, while second and third place will be chosen by Admin's. We will take the top ten entries and have our membership vote on it for the winner, out of those top ten, we will choose a second and a third.

10. Put effort into it! Be creative! Show us how YOU draw Anime!

11. Think about the mascots and their already present colour scheme, and try to come up with a good palette to base your image around.

12. Your winning piece will be displayed as the group's icon for over a year, as well as your colour scheme palette will be used as our journal skin. However, second and third place may also be included in the icon as well, and the top ten will get a journal feature, as well as the winning three!

13. Again do NOT design the mini icon itself, a full blown digital or traditional image of the mascot or both is what we need, we'll take care of making the icon for you and taking your palette.

14. You will be judged on: Creativity, Design, palette choice, and most importantly, accuracy to our current mascots.

15. Full body or half body images/shots are a major plus. Also drawing both mascots instead of just one.

16. You may submit as many entries as you want, however only 1 will win one of the three main prizes. Remember Quality over Quantity

18. Any members submitting NON CONTEST ENTRY WORK into this folder will get a major warning and possible removal from our group depending on the circumstance. This is NOT an excuse for you to submit non contest work into our gallery to get more pieces in over your 1 a month limit. Please don't do this. This is your warning
